The cost of child safety

For a long time the residents on Jodrell Road and surrounding roads have requested a traffic calming speed hump in front of their play park, especially as there has been increasing traffic from new housing recently.
I have now heard from Barrie Taylor, who has campaigned doggedly for us and for which he receives sincere thanks, that the issue has been decided.
Why no speed hump to protect the local children at Jodrell Bank - the council’s ‘criteria has changed’ and so because no children have been damaged they are put at risk by motorists who speed. Speed humps appear on Old Road, as cars have been damaged.
Two mountainous humps on a short stretch of pathway leading to the football field - any accidents to people reported here?
Environmental Services I ask you - weigh up the cost of some tarmac to the cost of a child’s safety.
