MAY I endorse all that has been said in previous correspondence about the wonderful railway line to Buxton.
However, Brian Allerton uses an unfortunate phrase when he speaks of 'stepping off the train'!

In Whaley Bridge getting off the train is less of a step, and more like an abseil. I am an average middle-aged woman with no particular disability, but the gap between train and platform becomes ever more daunting.

I admire the work done by the Friends of Whaley Bridge Station in making it more attractive, but could they not help make the trains more accessible?
