Tourneys at the Cavendish

THERE was a full field for an open 4am at Cavendish Golf Club on June 15.
The winning team hailed from Beauchief GC – R Grimmer, J Mallinson, R Mackay & S Hutchinson with a score of 13 under on 123.

Second place went to Minishull – R Lee, D O'Dwyer & A Heathcote; Cavendish and High Peak were 124, third J Watson, M Burge
ss, J Carr and J Slater.

The first invitation day was held on a thoroughly miserable, wet Saturday and the scores held up remarkable well.

In first place were Peter Lowe and Chris Massey from Macclesfield with 43 points. Runners up after CPO Malcolm Burgess and Alan Burgess of Tytherington also 43 points, third fourth and fifth all on 40 points were Neil Bolton and Stephen Parker from Todmorden, Malcolm Forder and Paul Clay from High Peak and Brian Dewick and Graham Dewick from Taunton.

Nev Salt scored an ace on the 13th hole bringing the club's tally to eight so far this year.

Some 160 competitors took part in a seniors open AM-AM on June 25.
Visitors claimed the first two places R Vine, K Mullins, D Slinn and A Bullimore (Matlock) 79.

Ian Clarke, G Jones, M Brookfield and R Harper (Renishaw) 78 points.

In third place was a Cavendish team of G Dalton, S Bailey, A Webster, & M Hallam 77 points after CPO from M Hodgkinson, D Furnival, M Statham and A Percival (Astbury) and B Dewick, N Salt, J Watson and J Rushton (Cavendish).
