Kath drives her first ever hole-in-one at Cavendish Burnage Trophy event

CAVENDISH Ladies Golf is well into its summer season now with new Lady Captain Gillian Hallam and results are reflecting a good mix of deserving winners.
Seventh Medal
1st Division Olivia Dowling 87-17-20

Second Division
Yvonne Oates 105-31-74

Eighth Medal
1st Division Lindsay Carruthers 85-13-72; 2nd Division Bronwen Snape 90-25-65

Ninth Medal
1st Division Lindsay C
arruthers 85-13-72 with a hole-in-one on 15th
2nd Division Fil Richards 99-25-74

10th Medal
1st Division Elizabeth Harrison 85-16-69; 2nd Division Joan Rushton 100-25-75

* Beryl Norton was on form winning the 5th Par 2 up and the 6th Par 6 up.

The final of our Par Competition, the Hardy Bowl was played on 10th June, the winner being Hilary Whatmore 2 up. The runner up was Tina Turner 1 down and she won the Nicholls Cup.

The Stableford competition winners –

3rd April - Lynn Carroll with 42 points

29th May - Julie Andrew with 36 points

12th June - Yvonne Oates with 39 points.

* The Burbage Trophy was played on 10th April and the winners were Jean Luton, Kim Bradbury and Rita Rapley.
Kath Cassidy scored a hole-in-one on the fourth that day – her first ever.

On May 6, the club held its Ping competition, a 4BBB format with Anna Major and Lindsay Carruthers getting 41 points which qualified them to go through to the next round.

Competition

The Basil Derbyshire Salvers competition was won by Elizabeth Brammeld and Chris Willingham on a count back from Olivia Dowling and Elaine Atherton, both pairs scoring nett 76. They will represent Cavendish in the Daily Mail Foursomes in 2009.

Fil Richards and Bronwen Snape scored 42 points to win the Coronation Foursomes on 15th May and they qualify to play the next round at Ringway.

The Golf Foundation Brooch was won by Bronwen Snape. The Masters' Chalice was played for on 5th June, the winner being Anne Peacock 91-20-71 and the runner up was Olivia Dowling 89-16-73.

The Past Captains' Trophy was won by Bridget Thornton 94-21-73.
On June 17 the club played the first leg of the Millennium Trophy at High Peak.

The second leg will be played on August 14 at Cavendish.
