Geoff lands the Jubilee Cup

THE Jubilee Cup played on the last Saturday in June produced a clear cut winner in Geoff Fielden who scored a fine 75-12-63.
Second, third and fourth places went to a card play off between Al Dean, 77-10-67; Eric Taylor 80-13-67 and Simon Paddock 79-12-67.

Best gross was Richard Holmes 68 and best full handicap, Mike Oakes 85-22-63.

The following day captain Paul Heathcote took 60 members to the Belfry for a highly successful 'away weekend.'

Winners of the Betterball on the Brabazon course were brothers Clive and Alan Burgess with 38 points. Runners-up Mike Hallam and Gary Pearson 37 and third Jeff Place and paul Wright 36.

A 4am was played on the PGA national course the next day and the winners were Graham Thwaites, Mike Hallam, Rob Lee and John Lomas with 77 points.

In second place were Peter Greenwood, Bob Turner, Brian Doig and Paul Wright, 76 points.
