Cavendish Seniors championship

DESPITE damp and blustery conditions there was a good turnout for the Cavendish Seniors Golf Championship.
The event was won by Steve Foster 78-12-66, 2nd Malcolm Pritchard 79-12-67 and third Barry Cooke 90-22-68.

Best gross was Phil Anderson 74 and best over 70 years John Slater 78-
5-73.

The Derbyshire Alliance held the Adam Bogey Cup at Cavend
ish for both professionals and amateurs. The cup was won by home club pair John Watson and John Lomas with a quite excellent score of 10 up. Runners up and third, both on 8 up were R Booth annd J Booth (Shirland) and Paul Wesselingh (pro) and S Kay (Kedleston Park).

The professionals played a medal in conjunction with the bogey and Paul Weeelingh (Keddleston) took first place with a remarkable 63 which included a triple bogey and a hole in one.

In second place was J Whatley (Morley) 67 and join third Simon Townend (Cavendish) and Gary Hagues (Grass more) 68.

Vice Presideents day and a Better Ball Stableford was held and the successful pair were George Dalton and Steve Chuddy with a brilliant 46 points 2nd Alistair Bearman & Mark Goodwin 42 and 3rd Andy Edge & Richard Holmes and 4th Jeff Haddon and Des Coleman each with 41 points.

The month was seen out with the Midweek Medal in which John Slater shot a sparkling 69-5-64 2nd Jeff Place 76-10-66 3rd Dave Marshall 84-17-67 4th Paul Bailey 79-11-68.
