Centre nearing completion
HADFIELD'S new Children's Centre is in line for completion at the end of the month according to Derbyshire County Council contractors.
Chair of Governors, Councillor Dave Wilcox and Nursery Headteacher, Kath Beswick have been celebrating the dismantling of the scaffolding as builders began internal plastering and flooring of the £300,000 development.
The Hadfield Children's Centre is one of three based in Glossopdale and recruitment of new staff is now underway.
Headteacher Kath Beswick said: "Once the Centre is completed and appropriate landscaping materials are planted, the Nursery Governors want to widen pathways and introduce non-slip surfaces to prevent mishaps."
"All the evidence suggests that the earlier we work with families, the better are children's life chances," said Councillor Wilcox.
"Children's Centres aim to ensure that people providing services are close to the people who need them."
