Cloud Cottage, Simmondley: one and a quarter acre arboretum/rhododendron garden. Open May 25, 2pm-5pm, and by appointment during May.
Gamesley Fold Cottage, off the A626 Glossop/Marple Road, Glossop: large cottage garden. Open May 25, June 8 and 22, 1pm-4pm, and by appointment for groups during May and June. www.gamesleyfold.co.uk.

High Roost, Storthmeadow Road, Simmondley: Suburban garden. Open June 22, 1pm-5pm. Visitors also welcome by appointment, visitors and groups welcome June-August.

Lyme Park, Disley: seventeen-acre garden retaining many original features from Tudor and Jacobean times. Open daily April to October. Open for the National Garden Scheme, on July 19, 11am-4.30pm. www.nationaltrust.org.uk.

Monksway, Summer Cross, Tideswell: gently sloping garden, 1,000ft above sea level. Open May 25, June 1 and 8, 11am-4pm. Visitors also welcome by appointment for groups of ten or more. Visit their website at www.monkswaygarden.co.uk.

Otterbrook, Alders Lane, Chinley: one acre garden. Visitors welcome by appointment during June.

Quarryside, King Charles Court, Glossop: small peaceful garden in quarry setting. Open May 24 and 25. Visitors also welcome by appointment June and July, groups 16 & under.
