A MEMBER of Chapel Male Voice Choir has been honoured for hitting the right notes for 50 years.
At a recent rehearsal, Roy Buxton was presented with a cut-glass memento in recognition of his achievement, by choir president Bob Mulholland.
Roy sings in the first tenor section and is also a member of the committee.
There are very few tasks and roles within the choir he has not undertaken over the years, and at one crucial period, he even undertook the role of choirmaster as an interim measure.
Roy, of Brookside Road, is also a choir stalwart at the parish church in Chapel, and is a much-travelled singer at churches all over the country.
The choir is also grateful to Roy for introducing his grandson James to their ranks, and he is keeping up the family tradition, by also singing First Tenor.
