THE SUN shone of Chapel-en-le-Frith's annual May Day celebrations.
The town's ancient Market Place was awash with colour, thanks to traditional maypole dancing, children's rides and a range of stalls by local groups and associations. There was even a barbecue provided by local pubs.
Cllr Mike Smith, Chair of Chapel Regeneration Partnership, said: "The fun day was a great success. Even the weather was kind this year because it was warm and dry throughout the event."

Sponsored by the regeneration partnership, the event was organised by Claire Andrew, Chair of the Business Association, Sue Stockdale and Caroline Gregory, with assistance from Linda Jackson, Guy Martin and the Police.
