May Day in Chapel

CHAPEL'S Market Place and the surrounding area will come alive with colour and be vibrant energy as the town celebrates May Day on Bank Holiday Monday, May 5,in a traditional family-friendly style.
Chapel Business Association have put together an afternoon of family-friendly activity with funding from Chapel Regeneration Partnership.

Claire Andrew, Chair of Chapel Business Association said: "We are going to have a really traditional May Day this year – a real celebration of our cultural and rural heritage."

The fun will start at 1pm and go on until 5pm. The free events will include an opportunity to relive a cultural past through May Pole dancing. There will be all the fun of the fair with children's rides and entertainment.

A stilt walker, magician, children's entertainer, traditional music, food and stalls will provide a background for art workshops, face painting & much more. Small charges may apply.

Free car parking is available in Thornbrook Road car park and Miry Meadow car park (off Cross Street).
