LOCAL MUM Karen Green is the latest addition to the Chapel-en-le-Frith and Chinley Safer Neighbourhood Team.
Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) Karen formerly worked as a kitchen assistant and helper at an out of school club at a local school. She joins Acting Sergeant Ian de Pee and PCSO Julie Shaw on the team.
She said: "I was looking for a full time job as my children have all grown up and are at an age where they more or less do their own thing but I care a lot about the local area and I wanted to do something where I could make a positive impact on people's lives."
Karen has already been on patrol in the community and been involved with local events such as Have Your Say public consultations, Proms in the Park at Chapel and Dove Holes carnival.
She has also visited the Dove Holes and Chinley Over 60s club but is keen to meet more new faces and develop links with the schools in the three villages.
She will be the main contact for people living in Chinley, Buxworth and Dove Holes.
Karen added: "I am settling in and getting to know people in the community. I am friendly and approachable and I hope people will come over and talk to me when they see me out and about."
