A NEW cancer support service for people in the High Peak is to be launched at Blythe House Hospice in Chapel-en-le-Frith.
Funding for three years from Macmillan Cancer Support has enabled the launch of the 'Macmillan Living Well with Cancer Programme'.

Under the new service, based at The Living Well Centre, cancer patients will be warmly welcomed by skilled and experienced healthcare professionals, and families and carers will have access to a range of physical and psychological services and support in a calm and relaxed environment.

Anne Cawthorn, Macmillan Living Well Specialist Practitioner, said: "The new service offers a flexible approach which aims to meet the needs of people who are coping with treatments, balancing work and family commitments, while trying to maintain their own wellbeing.

"We see this service as being a continuation of the existing services offered at Blythe House."

To celebrate the launch of the new service, Blythe House is inviting people to drop-in and find out more on Tuesday May 27, between 10am and noon.

Short presentations will take place at 10.15am and 11.15am, and refreshments will be available throughout the morning.
