A COACH company has been given the go-ahead to transfer part of its business into new premises in Chapel-en-le-Frith.
Bowers Coaches had sought planning approval to change the use of three vacant industrial units on Bowden Hey Road to a vehicle repair and maintenance facility.

The company stated previously its intention to transfer workshop operations from Aspincroft Garage, which was now deemed unsuitable for maintaining its fleet.

Members of High Peak Borough Council's Development Control Committee supported the application when it went before them on Monday night.

Cllr Michael Harrison said: "In the long term, this may be an opportunity for us to talk to Bowers about putting all their operations into one location, because at the moment there is a lot of transiting along Hayfield Road."

A report to the meeting also revealed Bowers' long term aim was to sell the coach park at Hayfield Road, which had been proving problematic to neighbours.
