Dukinfield 3rd XV 5, Hope Valley XV 96

ON A muddy and waterlogged pitch, Hope Valley piled the pressure on Dukinfield from the start of this Miller Homes League encounter.
Winning the ball from a scrum on Dukinfield's 22, it was passed swiftly down the back line for Woodhouse on the wing to cross the line.

Valley continued to dominate in difficult conditions, as Ancell broke through the Dukinfield ranks to make it 1
0-0.

Warren kicked through for Charmasson to score, with Spencer getting his first conversion of the day.

Hudson then grabbed a cheeky interception, racing away to score a converted try under the posts.

Dukinfield responded, and from a lineout they scored to make it 24-5.

Then, from Dukinfield's 22, Hutchinson managed to score under the posts.

The Valley attack was relentless, with Ancell, Woodhouse and Hudson all crossing the line, and Spencer on target with the conversions, to make it 50-5 at half time.

The second half produced a try for replacement Martin Spencer, following up a break by Hodgson from the halfway line.

Hodgson was again in the thick of the action, breaking off the back of a scrum ten yards out to score.

Valley drove into the Dukinfield half, and a kick through by Spencer was gathered by Warren to get his name on the scoresheet. More powerful running from Ancell gave him his hat-trick.

Dukinfield continued to compete, with their experienced pack causing Valley problems in the loose.

Ancell set-up Hodgson for his second try, before a good run from Woodhouse allowed Charmasson to score his second try, converted by Spencer, to make it 84-5.

Spencer converted another Ancell try, after the ball was passed through the back line, before Hutchinson hacked the ball through and controlled it before crossing the try line to complete the scoring.
