WHEN my wife and I moved to Buxton over nine years ago, it was the ideal location for us.
It had all the facilities we required regarding shopping, restaurants, entertainment, a lovely park and plenty of cheap and free parking.

Since then it has become more congested and a lot of green spaces are being filled with new dwellings, which do not seem to be in great demand.

The improvements to the park and the development of The Dome have been great, and the proposals for The Crescent and for The Octagon are positive solutions.

Can we not leave it at that?

The "Exciting Regeneration Plans For Buxton" would only increase congestion, traffic chaos, crime, pollution and general "business" in a lovely old town.

Are the only people in favour of these proposals those who are going to make a lot of money out of them? Those who want a city-type existence ought to move to a city.

Mr T E S Brown
Macclesfield Road
Buxton
